(January 2007) - Harwell Howard Hyne Gabbert & Manner, P.C. assisted American Esoteric Laboratories (AEL), a full-service provider of esoteric and clinical reference laboratory services, in being acquired by Sonic Healthcare. Ltd., an Australian publicly traded company (SHL.AX).

This transaction is the culmination of representing AEL from its formation by Brian Carr and James Billington onward, including raising $70 million of private equity financing in 2003 and completing six major laboratory company acquisitions from 2004 to 2006. During this period H3GM served as regular corporate counsel to AEL as it grew its annual revenues to over $100 million.

Sonic Healthcare Limited acquired AEL for approximately $180 million.
